1st Scientific Conference
on Cinema Screenplay, Practice and Research

The School of Applied Arts and Sustainable Design of the Hellenic Open University in collaboration with the Drama International Short Film Festival, organizes the 1st Scientific  Conference on Cinema Screenplay, Practice and Research on December 12, 13, 14, in Athens (Gravias 4-6).

The Conference will be held in a hybrid format with in-person and distance sessions. The main purpose of the conference is to open a broader discussion on current issues related to practice and research in the field of cinema and audiovisual arts, while exploring the possibilities of cooperation between educational institutions and professional bodies active in this field.

The thematic axes of the Conference approach a series of thematic fields related to film writing and research in accordance with the undergraduate programme of studies “Studies in Film Writing, Practice and Research (CSR)” of the Hellenic Academy of Sciences, but also the broader scientific, artistic and social implications of cinema. The selected papers will be published in an electronic edition of the Conference Proceedings with ISBN and DOI.

IMPORTANT DATES

August 30, 2024 September 15, 2024: deadline for submission of abstracts
– October 10, 2024: notification of acceptance
– November 30, 2024: receipt of final form of contributions with corresponding deposit of participation fee for articles in the Conference.
– December 2, 2024: announcement of final programme
– 12, 13, 14 December 2024: holding of the Conference

REGISTRATION FEE

For the participation of each selected article in the Conference, the amount of 40 euros is set.
The fee for student participation is set at 20 euros.
For each contribution and for the attendance, corresponding certificates will be given.
